Aims. The long term magnetohydrodynamic stability of magnetized transonic/supersonic jets is numerically investigated using a spatial approach. We focus on two-dimensional linearly-unstable slab configurations where the jet is embedded in a flow-aligned uniform magnetic field of weak amplitude.
